We enjoyed every minute of our 3 day 2 night package. Our trip to Arizona was a once in a lifetime event. Our time at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel was very comfortable. We found the food choices at Max & Thelma's to be fresh and tasty. Two of us have food allergies to wheat and were able to find... more

This ghastly trip was the absolute low point of our first visit to the South West.> The route is dull - only the last few miles consist of anything but scrub> The train crawls along painfully slowly> A host is assigned to each car to make sure nobody gets any peace. This starts with lengthy, self-indulgent, content-free... more

On August 29, 2008, We (FOUR GIRLFRIENDS) Traveled in the Parlour Car to the Grand Canyon. Our significant others dropped us off and were to meet us at the El Tavor Lounge which they did. We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip with "TINA" the bartender. She helped to make our trip MEMORABLE. Not... more

This place is a complete rip-off. From the pre-ride wild west "show" to the constant haranguing for "tips" from the staff, it was just awful. And don't waste your money for upgrade to observation or higher class thinking it will be a respite from small children. It ain't. And don't bother complaining to "Krystal" or anyone else for that matter.... more

I can see why some of the reviews are so bad. I LOVE choo choos! So we were going to book the GCRR for our 25th with 2 other couples...well over $1,000. Their website would continue to give me a note that they encountered an error and to try later. Same message for 2 days!! Says to enter your AAA... more

Grand Canyon Railway would be a great alternative for the National Park South Rim Parking Situation. Unfortunately, this once "Mom and Pop" well run operation has gone to the Corporate DOGS. Xanterra Corporation bought out this entity a couple years ago, bled it dry and has apparently resold recently. Unless things change drastically in the near future, those working for... more

The "Cafe Car" attendant named Nancy bitched loudly to her supervisor about not being paid enough and not having "tip signs" on the train anymore. I don't know about you, but I don't tip the local 7-11 worker. Come on guys, that's all you glorious cafe car really is -- a big convenience store on train tracks. The reality is... more

We just got back from Williams, AZ. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of our vacation. I was nervous about the Hotel and food because of the bad reviews that I read. I would highly recommend three night package to all. We were given more than enough to eat and enjoyed the gun fights and the train... more

Not thrilled with the trip. We purchased a two night three day package for approximately $700.00 for two persons. Following is our opinions and comments on the various portions of the package. Railroad car; We upgraded to Luxury Class and well worth the additional cost. Seating is assigned with plenty of room in a clean comfortable restored car. Most important,... more

We had a wonderful time. Stayed at the Grand Canyon Railroad hotel in Williams, and at the Maswik Lodge at the rim. Baggage transfers were handled perfectly. The buffets were great. The Bright Angel Lodge restaurant was terrific, had a Grand Canyon Cobb (Kaibob) salad. The ride on the train both to the rim and back was just a great... more
