I have been to Palm Springs roughly 20 times and had never been on the aerial tram before. We decided to give it a try, based on the rave reviews on this site and it was totally worth it! You go from about 800 feet above sea level at the valley floor to around 8500 feet in 15 minutes. The... more

Although this didn't sound terribly exciting we had heard this was a 'don't miss' activity so decided to try it - we were really glad we did! You wouldn't believe the amazing sights on the tram ride up - and then you arrive in a forest that is 30 degrees cooler than where you started from! The tram itself rotates... more

The heat was getting to us and we heard that it would be 30 degrees cooler so off we went. What fun! We went on a Saturday, arriving a little after noon and walked right onto a tram. Hazy day but the views were still amazing and we spent over 2 hours wandering around the 1.5 mile trail. There was... more

The Summer is a perfect time to ride the tram. It is usually 20 to 30 degrees cooler than the valley floor and it makes a great escape from the heat. The tram is always crowded during spring and Easter break and other major holidays, but not in the summer. We always bring our own food as the food at... more

Was on the tram 4/10/08, they packed us like sardines so I was uncomfortably pressed by too much humanity and blocked from the view by a herd of football jocks at the windows. Coming back, nearly same scenario with the crowd. I shudder to think how the weekend rush is like. The restaurant with the buffet was very overpriced with... more

Did the tramway on March 27th and had a great time. There was a decent crowd at 11:00 AM and we had 1/2 hour wait to get on. When we returned at 1:00 PM there was no wait, but I understand there was a wait later in the afternoon. I would suggest is you have a few days to pick... more

This trip is well worth doing. the ride up is amazing - some great 360 views. Going over the pylons is a blast!! When you get to the the top, I recommend going for a walk along one of the marked tracks. Well worth doing - quite a steep walk back up but you can take plenty of breaks! From... more

The tram trip is one of a kind. It's the largest Tram in the world. It's a big round vehicle and it's floor slowly rotates through the trip up and down for a 360 view. And what a view! My husband and I went when there was still some snow at the top. It was chilly but the views were... more

My husband and I rode the aerial tram in March 2008. We arrived around noon and found no real wait to ride the bus to the valley station, buy tickets, or ride the tram. The ride up is an experience. Not only are you going up at a 60 degree slope, the floor of the tram is rotating so no... more

We were pleased that we had no line at all- just walked right on. The car was packed! That made it kind of uncomfortable. Once at the top, we wanted to do some trail walks, but didn't realize that the trails aren't cleared. We didn't have footwear that would hold up to snow and ice. We're from New England, so... more
