This recreation of an old time store is part museum, part working store, and all interesting. Entry fee is I think, $5 for adults 12+ and is worth the shopkeeper telling you stories about this area and store in the 1800's and early 1900's. He kept by young children entertained by having them identify animal pelts like those used to... more

Forget the airboat rides. The real story of Chokoloskee is at the Smallwood Store. It's full of old stuff that may have been on the shelves when Ted Smallwood was behind the counter (if that isn't him still there in his chair) and old documents and books about Smallwood and Ed Watson and the other characters that populated the island... more
