We visit the North Shore at least once a year, and Canal Park is always on the list of stops. The boardwalk is nice, and playing on the shore with family is fun for the kids. Watching the lift bridge go up for the huge ships going out into Lake Superior is fun! You can also walk out to the... more

Duluth has to be one of my favorite places to retreat to. The 2+ hour drive from the Cities is definately worth it. Canal Park is a great way to see the sights of Duluth and Lake Superior. There are quite a few hotels along this stretch. The walking path is great for not only taking a nice walk, but... more

We really enjoyed visiting Duluth and Canal Park. We spent most of our time there down at the park going on Boat rides, seeing Superman at the IMAX, the Aquarium, etc. There is all this stuff right by the park to do, next time I will get a hotel closer to the park so we can not get lost getting... more

Seeing the ships come and go in the canal is very interesting to see and the shops and restuarants are fun to walk around and see. There are gulls everywhere and beware, they will try and get food from you. I bought some mini donuts and had one actually swoop down and claw my head - ewww! more

We thought Canal park was a great way to spend a day. We walked along the lakewalk, and stood next to the aerial bridge watching the ships come and go. On a windy day, the water crashes on the rocks. It is such a wonderful sight. There are quite a few places to shop in Canal park, a large antique... more

First off, you can't breathe in the ocean air since this is a freshwater lake and the ocean isn't anywhere near. A good place to hang out, watch the ships come through the locks, visit the museum, etc. Lots of antique shops, restaurants, and more on Lake Street, and several nice hotels. more

Duluth and Canal Park is one of our favorite get aways for a long weekend. Watching the ships come in is such an everyday occurance, but it still makes you eyes open ion amazement when you see the size of these ore carriers. Going to sleep at night with the sound of the waves crashing on the shore is one... more

It's historical, it has breatktaking views, watching the ships come in, the aerial lift bridge, the shops, the restaraunts, the motels, everything in this area is a must see! The people from the hotels, shops, restaraunts, etc. are all so accomodating. We drove 8 hours to see... more

I have been to Duluth dozens of times and I just can't seem to get enough of the Canal Park. Walking along a body of water so vast and powerful is an emotional experience. My parents brought me there when I was a child and now in college, I am deciding that Duluth might be where I want to settle.... more
