We have just returned from The Lonesome Spur Ranch and can only describe it as an unforgettable experience. So much so, that we re-scheduled our flights and stayed an extra 3 days! (It would have been longer but we had to return home to work)!! It is a working ranch so be prepared to turn your hand to anything. If... more

Hi. Just wanted to tell people about the best working ranch, Lonesome Spur. Don’t go if your looking for your horses to be delivered and taken away after a days ride, go then to a Dude ranch, this is a real working ranch and that means mucking in!!! The horses are great, they ‘go’ for good riders and ‘look after’... more

My best friend & I are experienced riders and had been promising ourselves a ranching holiday for years. We didn't want a 'dude ranch' but a proper working ranch where we could learn something new - and this was it! All the staff were great and made us feel part of the family. We had fantastic cattle horses who taught... more

I had wanted for so long to stay on a working ranch in America and was advised this was a proper working ranch and that I would really enjoy the experience. That was an understatement, I loved every minute of it. The people were fantastic, the horses great and the scenery was stunning. We rode across wide open spaces and... more

Beware their advertising is fraudulent and the quality of service horrible. We had researched 100's of guest ranches and chose this vacation location wanting to stay at a working cattle ranch where we could gallop across the range, experience cattle work, and enjoy fresh and home cooked meals. As stated on their personal website Fees were to include: a.Basic riding... more

I had been planning my trip to Lonesome Spur for over a year with a friend and 3 weeks prior to departure she fell down some stairs and unfortunately was not able to come with me. I had never travelled abroad on my own before and was really nervous about it. I need not have worried though. As soon as... more

If you love to ride horses and not just around an arena you will like the Lonesome Spur. They have so much land to ride on you will not be bored. You will catch, brush and saddle your horse. If you are a novice or experienced you will have a good time. Lonnie and Darlene will treat you like family... more
