This was the first time I had been inside a lighthouse. They let you climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse. There's not much to do other than that except to enjoy the view. You can walk to the beach from the lighthouse. We spent most of our time at the beach instead of the lighthouse. more

My husband and I took a tour of the lighthouse as part of a "Ghosts of the Lighthouse" tour. It was a night time tour, and there were a TON of HUGE biting bugs. more

My boyfriend and I decided to climb the Cape May Lighthouse nearly as soon as we got into the town. There is plenty of parking available in the lots surrounding the Lighthouse. You walk inside the base of the lighthouse where you pay a minimal fee, $5.00 ($4.00 for children I believe) to climb to the top. There are 199... more

The thing that I love about this lighthouse is that you can actually climb to the top of it. There is nothing more frustrating than going to a lighthouse and literally knocking on the door and not being able to get inside. This is a very pretty lighthouse with a very pretty view. Highly recommended. more

It's a lighthouse. That's it. The souvenier shop is a closet, no a/c, and the woman at the check out kept shooting us dirty looks even though we left our kids on the bench outside to keep the shop from being overcrowded. Highly overrated in the tour books, for sure. more

We absolutely loved our trip to the Cape May Lighthouse! The area is gorgeous! Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a fairly easy climb considering the convenient landings every 30 steps. I was recently in the lovely city of Cape May and since it was my first visit to this area I had to play tourist. There were quite a few things I wanted to see and do, but was somewhat limited by time. The lighthouse was a priority, after spending time on the beach of course. What an interesting place... more

We had a beautiful, clear day when we climbed the stairs to the top of the Lighthouse and we could see for miles. It's worth the climb. Just hold tight to little one's hands! more
