From the size of this place, I expected there to be more to do and see. There are beautiful fields to hike through, although I recommend taking the free hayride in at least one direction as it's a bit of a trek to the main "barn". We dined at the Inn last Saturday, August 23, 2008. Three minicule entrees with one glass of wine and two cokes came to $130. My wife was so disappointed with the size of her pasta portion that she spoke with the unsymphathetic restauraurant manger who offered no satisfaction. Went to Shelburne farms after seeing a ton of promotional pamphlets at various hotels/restuarants in the area. The visitor center is out of sight of the main farm. The day we went, they were urging people to walk to the main farm building. It's an OK walk, about 15 minutes...but it's just pretty much a field. The main barn site... more
