We stopped at the Lahaina Jodu Mission briefly as part of our tour. This mission is very beautiful and serene. This place houses the largest Buddha statue outside of Japan. It stands 12 feet tall and weighs about 3 tons. It was donated by a wealthy Japanese businessman in 1968 to celebrate 100 years of Japanese immigration to Hawaii. more

Very nice location, they have a bell ringing every evening at 8 pm, also the 2nd largest buddha in the US 9or is it the world?) Nice stop if you are doing the historic Lahaina thing.... more
