We just retuned from Boston. We took a guided tour with thr Freedom Trail Foudation from the visitors Center. What a great tour! Our guide made the tour great. He was dressed in costume and he was a true professional. He was knowlegable and funny. Made the tour one our best expierences in Boston. You could tell he was a... more
During a recent trip to Boston my husband and I throughly enjoyed the Freedom Trail. While the trial is clearly marked with a red line and is easily done alone, I highly recommend taking one of the many guided walking tours. We took two different tours with Boston By Foot. One was "The Heart of the Freedom Trail" and the... more
Being from out of town, the Freedom Trail was great because it kepy us from getting lost and we were able to see a lot of Boston. There was a lot to see along the way, and not just from a historical aspect. We didn't do any of the guided tours, but we did see a lot of historical monuments,... more
We walked the Freedom Trail a couple of weeks ago. I had been to Boston before but only for 1 day both times so had seen the sights but never walked the tour. However this time I found it to be a fun and informative way to see the sights. It only took us a couple of hours to do... more
My wife and I walked the Freedom Trail last week. It was definitely worth doing. As others have suggested, stroll through Boston Common and The Public Garden before you start the trail. We were lucky and caught a nice day so both were great. You can get a guide if you want. We just picked up a map at the... more
Ever since I was a kid I have been on trips to do the Freedom Trail. It will take you an entire day since it spans the entire city and even more if you want to reach some of the battle grounds in Lexington and Concord. The trail as they call it, is a painted red line seen all over... more
We (4 adults) did the Freedom Trail Tour in December. It was cold, but we bundled up! We booked online at http://www.thefreedomtrail.org/index.html We picked up our tickets at the Boston Common Visitor Center and met our guide just outside. The tour lasted about 2 hours and ended at Faneuil Hall. The tour was well worth doing! We had seen the... more
First, stop at the Visitor Center in the Boston Commons. They'll charge you $2 for a map, which is better than the one offered online as it details the historical signifigance of each stop. They even have guided tours if you want (we didn't). The walk is fun and should take around 3-4 hours, more if you stop to shop... more
This was a great tour. A must do. We debated whether to do the guided tour or download the MP3. We wanted to do it at our own pace, so we used the MP3. It had useful information and facts, but it was not user friendly. My husband is a major computer geek and even he had problems. Sometimes the... more
