I've wanted to visit Canyon de Chelly for literally decades. When I finally got a chance, I read the reviews here and called up Adam at Antelope House Tours. We went on the 3 hour tour (sounds like "Gilligan's Island" eh?). It turns out Adam had so many clients that day that he took the bigger party and sent my... more

I took a day long tour out of the Thunderbird Lodge. The often referred to "shake and bake" truck tour. Shaking was minimal, and since it was April, no baking. The day was too drawn out to really enjoy, and boring. The sites were all fenced off. You could not get closer than a football field to the canyon walls.... more

Adam Teller of Antelope House Tours is excellent. I decided to go with him due to the great reviews right on this sight. The great reviews are 100% deserved. He took my husband, 10 year old daughter and I for a half day tour of Canyon de Chelly. We used his new 4 door jeep which was very roomy and... more

My wife and I spent a half-day with Adam Teller (Antelope House Tours) and two fellow travellers in September, on a guided tour of Canyon De Chelly. We chose Antelope House Tours based on postings on Tripadvisor, & can only add to the positive comments of previous posts. Adam is a fascinating guide, & came over as a great guy.... more

The "other" canyon in Arizona has a beauty and charm of its own. IF it wasn't in general area of Grand Canyon, it would probably get more of its due acclaim. But that is not so bad, because Canyon de Chelly does not have the huge crowds that its more famous neighbor has. To see the different areas from either... more

We have all ways wanted to see the remains of the "Anasazi" ruins located in the remote areas of the south west. History tells us that the people who build these fabulous cliff dwellings of adobe disappeared over 1000 years ago. Questions as to what happened to them remain for the most part unanswered. The Canyon walls extend over 1000... more

We found the Canyon de Chelly to be stunningly beautiful and surprisingly free of other tourists. We opted out of the Vegas loop in favor of heading East to the Canyon de Chelly, then North and back to Flagstaff(and that other canyon) via Monument Valley. It was great! We took a tour through the Canyon de Chelly with Daniel Staley... more

June 23 - July 3, 2007: Family Road Trip with 13-Year Old Twins (Christopher and Stephanie). O.K. So far, on a previous write-up, we've flew from CT to Las Vegas to acclimated to the time change. Drove our rental car in 106 degree temps to the Hoover Dam and took the 45 minute tour, continued about 3 more hours to... more

One of the most wonderful places I've ever seen. You can drive ino the canyon, as opposed to just looking down into it. That gives you a completely different perspective. You need a navajo-guide to drive in, who will take you in a 4WD (WHICH IS NECESSARY, don't try this with a passenger car!!). We booked a guide through De... more

FYI --- Contrary to a number of postings, the public is allowed free access (no fees -- no guides) to the "White House" ruins which is accessible from the south rim drive (w/ parking lot above). This ruin is down a 600 foot vertical descent (+/- 1/3rd of a mile) trail and is worth the hike. more
