If you're a history buff this tour is for you but I thought the tour inside Independence Hall was very boring. The building is very plain jane looking and not that interesting. The best part is the outside of the building and the Indepence Square more

You must see this if you are in Philly. I also recommend purchasing your tickets before hand at nps.gov. It was only $6 for 4 of us. We reserved 1:30pm. They have tours every 15 minutes from 9am to about 4pm. You need a ticket to go in and all the tickets were gone for the day we went there... more

We purchased our tickets online to ensure that we recieved an earlier tour time. After a visit to the Welcome Center to pick up our tickets, we walked a couple of blocks to Independence Hall. After passing through pretty extensive security (don't bring any open food/drink) we were then able to enter the area surrounding Independence Hall. We then lined... more

My husband & I visited Independence Hall in May and were lucky enough to be the only two on the ranger guided tour of the Todd & Bishop White Houses. The guide provided excellent background & detail. The houses, just down the street from each other, contrasted the life styles of a wealthy & prominent citizen with the home of... more

Plan on hitting the Visitor Center early to get a timed ticket to Independence Hall. Once you know when you will be allowed in to Independence Hall you can plan the rest of your day. You only get about 20 minutes inside the hall with a guide. The guide we had was great and had a great wealth of knowledge. more

I tried to get tickets online 3 weeks before our Spring break trip and there were none available. Based on information here, I asked if there was an end-of-day tour for those without reservations: apparently those are only available during "busy" times in the summer. Out of luck? Not so quick: do this. First, even though you don't have tickets,... more

Philadelphia's Independence Hall ranks at the top for a revolutionary-war inspired weekend with kids. Get to the visitor's center early (8:30am opening) or go on-line (months) in advance to request free, but timed entry tickets. The visitor's center is also where you can get a National Park guide for children that our children (7 and 9 years old) both enjoyed... more

This is certainly a stop while you are in Philly, PA... lots to see and do within the hall - a very nice gift shop, street maps, the people are very, very helpful - you also can obtain tickets to any of the local events or tours right there in the Hall. There are numerous static displays and time lines... more

We went to the tour at 5 in the evening - the one which you cannot get advance tickets. We lined up early - about 4:40. Very soon after the line was longer than capacity for the tours from 5-6. We had a nice guide and he showed us through the ground floor areas. The tour at this time does... more
