Go here before lunch. Take a couple of pictures. Maybe go into one of the two museums on the street, both of which are closed on Mondays. Then walk further down 2nd st and eat where George Washington, John Adams and others have, at the City Tavern. more

Elfreth's Alley is nothing remarkable to look at, it's a short row of quaint houses. Claimed to be the oldest continuously residential street in the nation. We happened to go on a day when no one was around, which is a large part of the reason we enjoyed ourselves. We opted for the tour of house 126, and were the... more

If you visit the Besty Ross House, you may as well walk another block or so and visit the oldest street in the nation (so they say). It's a short block of old houses that have been renovated, and also a museum. It also has.... a gift shop. more
