New Orleans definitely has it's share of bars to draw you in. You absolutely must stop by Pat O'Briens. My husband and I sometimes went into this place 3 times in one day! It just has such a cool atmosphere. We always got a table outside near the fountain. During the week, the waiter will bring you each a little... more

Yes, it's touristy but we love being tourists in New Orleans. We've been going to Pat O'Brien's since our honeymoon and still have a great time when we go there. We especially love the patio with the flaming fountain. Only once have we sat inside at the piano bar (during a rainy night). It was nice but not the special... more

Way too crowded and the food was just "so-so". Service was ok but rushed. The Hurricanes were disappointing. It would be better as a hang-out place than for dinner. more

We expected the touristy atmosphere. We expected a wait. We were told we could not eat on the patio, but could wait there and get a drink. When we sat down, we noticed several people were eating. We were then told we had to move to a table in a more crowded area. Very unpleasent experience. more

We popped in for a cocktail around 4 p.m. after taking a 2 hour walking tour. We had no problem getting a table in the courtyard and enjoyed our drinks, my husband had a hurricane and I had a rainstorm. Great place to relax on a hot afternoon. Remember to take your glass with you or return it for a... more

Had a great time. Everyone talks about the fire fountain in the courtyard, but don't pass up the other 2 bar areas... There is a sports bar, if that is your sort of thing, but we went in to just quickly "check out" the dualing pianos bar and ended up staying for a few hours... Go early if you want... more

Visited Pat O'Briens the Sunday after Mardi Gras. Absolutely fabulous place. The atmosphere is wonderful with the flaming water volcano fountain. We went in originally just to have a quick Hurricane and a glass as a souvenir but ended up staying for a while because it was just so wonderful. The server was very personable and took good care of... more

Pat O' Briens is our favorite place to party in the French Quarter. Of all the bars in the quarter, this one has class. You can go there and just be you... no one flashing you, no one getting into fights... just a great atomoshere to be in... we think it is romantic. The hurricanes are amazing... the first one... more

I know this is a tourist trap, but it is soooooo much fun! We had to wait a little for a table near the action. The restaurant is not very big. The host and hostess were just wonderful and so sweet. After two hurricanes, I can't remember if I finished my dinner, but I know it was good. My husband... more

This place is probably one of the more touristy bars in the French Quarter, and it can get very crowded. That said though, they do have a really nice courtyard, it can just be hard to get a seat. This place is known for the "Hurricane," a big red fruity drink that seems to have a lot of rum in... more
