This trip was so great for our whole family! The staff was so wonderful! My mom is 83 and never snorkeled... I couldnt get her out of the water, they had flotation and custom view boxes that were so great for her! My kids loved the slide and high dive. The food was excellent ! A definite must if you... more

This is truly an experience not to be missed while vacationing on the Big Island. The Fair Wind II is a very well maintained catamaran with tons of ammenities to make your trip extremely enjoyable-high dive, waterslide, inner tubes, snorkel gear, floating noodles, and lots of yummy food! We opted for the afternoon deluxe snorkel cruise mainly because we didnt... more

We were recommended to the Fair Wind from the concierge at the hotel, who gave it rave reviews. It's slightly more expensive than some of the other snorkelling companies we looked at (about $20 to $30 more), but we took the concierge's recommendations, rather than leave it to chance. We checked-in at 8.30am for the AM cruise that departs at... more

We took the snorkel cruise (deluxe AM) on the Fairwinds II and also the afternoon whale watch on the Hula Kai. Both boats were very clean, bathrooms large, staff very attentive and very stable (easy to get in/out of). The food served on the AM cruise was very good, and the snorkeling in the reef was nice. The snorkel cruise... more

I wasn't too sure how much I'd enjoy a snorkeling trip, but I ended up having a wonderful time. Being incredibly nearsighted and dependent on eyeglasses, I had never had an opportunity to appreciate the beauty marine life except in an aquarium. Luckily for me, Fair Wind supplied us with prescription goggles so I could see everything in vivid detail.... more

We did the morning snorkel tour on the Fair Wind II and it was a great time. The dock was just a 5 minute drive from our condo in Kailua-Kona and I was instantly struck by the diversity of the crowd. There were everyone from pregnant mothers and young children to senior citizens in their 80's. The boat was in... more

My husband and I and our two ten year olds went on a morning cruise on the Fair Winds II on the first week of September, 2007. I can't compare it to other boats or snorkel tours because this is our first. The boat 60 foot catamaran looked new or at least well kept. I think that it holds 100... more

Kealakekua Bay, the Fairwind destination, is as good as Hawaii snorkeling gets. We lived there for years and tried it all, and this was right at the top. The Fairwind also happends to be based closer to the bay than other dive boats out of Kailua-Kona, so you get more time in the bay and less on the passage, which... more

We went out on our third trip on Hula Kai on June 12th. We booked on the Internet and they offered us our choice of a free t-shirt eaach or a 10% discount. This time we took the discount because we got t-shorts in January. The boat is beautifully designed for its purpose--it really moves under way (20+ knots), so... more

We did the a.m. snorkel tour to Kealakekua Bay on the Fair Wind II during our most recent trip in May 2007 and loved it! They start off in Keahou Bay and you begin about a 40 minute ride to the most pristine snorkel spot on the island. The views of the island from the boat are beautiful. The boat... more
