The Witch House claims to be the only home with direct ties to the witch trials. It's also a cool look back into history and home life. The tour is really facinating with a guide giving you all kinds of information about the trials and how people operated a home back then. It's got enough to interest kids and adults... more

This 17th-century house was owned by Jonathan Corwin, who served as a judge in the famous witch trials. But the connection is incidental and not really important in order to appreciate the preservation of this First Period home. The guided tour is well worth the additional $2 fee. This house belonged to one of the judges that presided over the witch trials. He and his wife had 10 children - 10! I couldn't help thinking "If these walls could talk" Oh, the conversations regarding the witches they must have had under that old roof! The tour was more focused on how they lived back then rather than any... more

If you want to see a period house with period furnishings, this is a reasonable place to do it. For $8, you can walk through the 4 or so rooms and see the furnishings and read a few signs about things like why forks weren't common at the time, etc. If you are hoping to get information about the witch... more

Salem is full of pseudo historical attractions, but this is the real thing. Although the name "Witch house" makes it sound more hype than history, this is a genuine period house with excellent interpretation. I would see this instead of the House of Seven Gables; they do a much better job. more
