The Queen Emma Summer Palace is a wonderful and historic experience and I highly recommend it. We went early, as soon as they opened, and got a virtually private tour of all the historic items, which are many. Although we didn't find much in the tour books about this place we were pleasantly surprised and glad we went. The docent not only showed us through the house, pointing out furnishings and the history behind them, but also seemed to know almost everything about the Hawaiian royal families : who was related to whom, where they travelled, what they... more

This is certainly a must see attraction while on the island of Oahu. There's not only a lot of interesting facts about our American/Hawaiian heritage but the home and it's furnishings are an enjoyable trip back into history. And we loved meeting Aunt Violet on 2 other visits in prior years but missed her in May 2003. We hope to... more
