Mariposa Grove is away from the valley but worth a special ride to this grove. The trees are just spectacular. I took the Big Tree Tram Tour ($16) up to the top. We went to Mariposa Grove on our second day at Yosemite NP last month. However, we did not have the option of riding up the road leading to the giant trees..
