My first mistake was not renting a scooter before arriving to Taroko. There are options to take a tour bus, but this is at the driver's pace, not your own and can be quite pricey. I got a ride up to the main area of the gorge, then hiked for 9 hours! Not a good idea in flip flops. I... more
