Lake Guaiba receives the water of Jacui River, Cai River, Sinos River and Gravatai River.

This neoclassical architecture building was opened in 1869. With over 100 shops and stores, there is great variety of options: restaurants, fruit and fish stores, and a famous ice cream parlour.

An old thermoelectric powerhouse of the city that was active from 1928 to 1974. Since 1991, it's one of the most important cultural centers of the State.

Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the Post and Telegraph Offices building was declared a historic landmark by the National Historic Site Office in 1981.

This group of 28 islands (most of which are not inhabited) is home to over 300 kinds of plants, 108 kinds of birds and over 20 species of fish, in addition to hundreds of other animals. Some islands are connected to the continent by the Regis Bittencourt Crossing.

AT 311 meters high, Morro Santana is the city’s highest peak.

The Botanical Gardens contains approximately 43 hectares. Also at the Gardens: the Natural Sciences Museum headquarters, a Germplasm Bank, a Seed Bank and a Sapling Terrarium.
