Here are some sights you do not want to miss in Bejiing after you have seen the usual tourist stops

1. The Underground City
The Underground City, Beijing, China
At least for now, visitors can roam through the underground system of spooky tunnels used by the Chinese Government during the Cultural Revolution. Dark corners, odd props (gas masks, dummies in uniforms...), and its tainted history make this a attraction that you will talk about for awhile! Not many people visit and the entrance is in the middle of an old hutong so it might take a little while to find.
2. Donghuamen Night Snack Street
A street of vendors selling snacks on a stick such as scorpions, squid, grasshoppers etc...
3. Sanlitun Bar Street

Go during the day for lunch or some shopping. Go at night for a pretty good bar scene. Off in an alley are Bar Blu, The Tree (relaxed Belgium bar), & Kai and Poachers (out of control and very inexpensive bars near hostels). On the main drag are lines after lines of bars to choose.
4. Chaoyang District Clubs
Anyone between 21 and 30 have to have to have to experience the Bejing club scene for at least one night. My favorites are "Banana" , "Vics", and "Mixx". Order a bottle of Chivas and a pitcher of green tea and just watch the craziness.
5. Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan)

Give yourself a whole day. The Summer Palace is HUGE
6. Hutongs
Hutongs, Beijing, China
Someday soon there will be no more hutongs so if your in Beijing make sure to take time to see the old Hutongs before they are gone. Amazing little communities in the middle of a huge city.
7. Da Zhalan
Fun street to go in and out of shops. Less annoying and cramped that the Silk and Pearl Market but you can still get the typical chinese souveniors.
