Friendly guesthouse with a young clientele
Cool, historical college. Vibrant and green.
Old illuminated texts, nicely presented and well-preserved. A must-see for bibliophiles.
4. Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens & St. Fiachra's Garden
Really peaceful, beautiful gardens and lovely horses.
Historic castle on lovely, well-manicured grounds. Be sure to find the small family cemetery that includes a pet grave.
Interesting old cathedral. The best part of a visit is a climb up the Round Tower, which you can feel swaying in the breeze. Great views!
Friendly guesthouse in a historic atmosphere. It was a little worn, but our room was huge, more like a suite. The breakfast in the place across the road (included) was very good in cool surroundings.
Awesome old fortress.
Lovely little place with fabulous food--the best we ate in Ireland.
Often overlooked, this stark, somewhat desolate area in western Ireland is definitely worth exploration. It's like the surface of the moon--amazing!
Amazing natural feature, but kind of crowded and touristy. If you can make it to the Aran Islands, the cliffs at Dun Aengus are just as good in a more fascinating setting.
Modern, spacious, and extremely friendly place. The staff were beyond helpful--they even helped my husband set up a birthday surprise, bring in flowers and champagne from a nearby town. They also helped arrange our trip to the Aran Islands.
Ireland's premiere show cave! Fun if you're into caves--it doesn't require much athleticism. Very accessible.
This was a bit dead in the off-season, so it's good if you want peace and quiet.
Amazing! The cliffs are just as incredible as the Cliffs of Moher, and the ancient fort is amazing. Especially impressive were the native rocks used as a defensive device against intruders on horseback.
Kind of touristy, but very interesting as an ancient structure and timepiece. I liked the graffiti from the 19th century.
Very pretty little seaside town.
