Probably America’s most notorious mob leader in history, Al Capone lays in a modest grave in Hillside Illinois, part of a family plot whose family name marker has been obscured by a large bush.

Novodevichy (New Maiden) Convent and Cemetery, Moscow, Central Russia
This Russian composer of Peter and the Wolf, among other works, is laid to rest at the Novodevichy Convent and Cemetery in Moscow, along with other such notable Russian public figures as Anton Chekhov, Nikolai Gogol and Sergei Eisenstein, among others.
3. Marie Antoinette, Abbey Church of St. Denis, Saint Denis, France

The famed French queen is buried along with Louis XVI in this ornate cemetery in Saint-Denis.
4. Antoni Gaudi, Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain
Church of the Sacred Family (Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia), Barcelona, Catalonia
The famous surrealist architect, whose work influenced the Art Nouveau movement, is interred in Barcelona at the Cathedral Sagrada Familia, a building he designed himself.
5. Ludwig Von Beethoven, Zentralfriedhof, Vienna, Austria
Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof), Vienna, Austria
The brilliant composer is interred in the Central Cemetery in Vienna, along with other such famous Viennese composers as Schubert, Strauss and Brahms. Also buried here are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Anton Salieri, the man alleged to have killed him.
6. Franz Kafka, New Jewish Cemetery, Prague, Czech Republic

The famous Czech writer lays to rest in the New Jewish Cemetery in Prague, along with friend and fellow writer Max Brod.
7. Hans Christian Andersen, Assistens Cemetery, Copenhagen, Denmark
Assistens Cemetery (Assistens Kirkegard), Copenhagen, Zealand
Denmark’s famed writer, known for his many fairytales and children’s stories, lays to rest in the Assistens Cemetery in Denmark. Other notable Danes buried here include Niels Bohr, famous physicist and pioneer of quantum physics, as well as Soren Kierkegaard, acclaimed philosopher and founder of existentialism.
8. Oscar Wilde, Pere-Lachaise Cemetery, Paris, France

Notorious playwright, author and satirist Oscar Wilde is interred in the famed and quirky Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise, where life-sized sculptures and monuments to the dead fill the cemetery. Wilde’s own gravestone is carved with an anatomically correct Egyptian style male figure which was later made “incorrect” when a fig leaf made to cover the “indecent” carving was removed by unknown thieves who inadvertently made off with more than just a leaf. The cemetery is also home to such famous figures as Edith Piaf, Sarah Bernhardt, Isadora Duncan and Jim Morrison.

The famous Black nationalist, poet, philosopher and fighter for freedom has been interred alongside a number of prominent Jamaican Prime Ministers and political leaders in Kingston’s National Heroes Park.
10. King Pakal, National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City, Mexico
National Museum of Anthropology (Museo Nacional de Antropologia), Mexico City, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast
The remains of this Mayan king are housed within the National Museum of Anthropology, having been moved from their original discovery in a secret tomb deep within the Temple of Inscriptions of the Palenque ruins.
