| Better views than from the Empire State Building. Shorter lines. Can make reservations. |

| Phemonemal and breathtaking, even if you have no relatives who immigrated. But skip the Statue of Liberty- it looks best from a distance. |

3. Metropolitan Museum of Art
| A classic. Even if you just sit on the steps or walk into the lobby you will instantly feel a part of the City. But if you have a bit of time, take a look inside and follow your instincts. You will be inspired! |

| Just wander through for a few minutes- you don't need a destination. Buy a dog on the corner, sit on a bench and relax. You'll feel like a local. |

| Nothing compares. But do not miss the old wooden escalators- you have to go up a few floors, but once you do you will feel as if you are living "Miracle on 34th Street." |

6. Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
| You may not know that this is a large complex of many buildings and a magnificent courtyard. Don't worry that you do not have a ticket to any performance- it's a great place to wander, and is smack in the middle of the best of the West Side. |

7. 57th Street from 2nd to 10th Avenues
| Get out and WALK. This tour of the grand avenue that slices our city will take you from residential, with specialty shops, to the most prestigious stores in the world, to a new neighborhood that has been "discovered" and has a wonderful mix of old and new. |

| Go for dinner. Go for lunch. Go for a pastry. Go for coffee. Just go. |

9. New York Public Library
| Don't think library- think beautiful historic building with magnificent architecture and museum quality inspiration. Check out the Rose Reading Room and don't forget to look UP! |
