I don't quite get the castle theme in central Mexcio. A bit strange. Although others have had nice things to say about Maria, the owner/manager, I found her to be unhelpful and cold tending to down right rude. She was much more interested in speaking at length to her staff than attending to the guests that needed her attention. The... more

I stayed that this hotel as pat of a 10 day independent trip to the Copper Canyon area arranged through Copper Canyon Adventures in El Fuerte. When I stayed at the hotel, I was the only guest staying in the new canyon view rooms located directly on the canyon rim. The room was large, clean and comfortable. I watched sunset... more

The first thing that struck me very odd and out of place was the medieval castle look for a hotel in the middle of Tarahumara country. As we sat down to eat our first meal, I continued to notice the medieval motifs in the large dining room. Contrasting with the medieval look, a large mural on one wall portrayed the... more

Copper Canyon is one of those must-see places. Given that, I think it is worth spending a little more for a room that sits literally on the edge of the cliff looking over the Canyon. Mansion Tarahumara just added a building (and dining area/bar) above the pre-existing cabins. An entirely different feel. This allows you to watch the sunrise in... more

This was our second choice, after the hotel at Divisadero (but that was fully booked). We booked by phone, but when we got there they had no record of our reservation. (So make sure you get a confirmation by fax. Luckily, they had rooms. If not, I don't know what we'd've done, as there's nowhere else to stay.) The cabins... more

My wife and I went there for a 2 night stay as a part of our honeymoon and it was very enjoyable. There were a couple small issues that arose, but Maria quickly took care of them and seemed cheerful to help in any way. The canyon view is just a short hike away, and the rim tour was very... more

Stayed ther in June for 2 nights with my family. We had two Cabins. Good points are that you have individual cabins, each with it's own character. They are large and comfortable. The owner is onsite and she speaks English, She is always around making sure things go well. Everyone is very attentive. Food is great. Setting is peaceful and... more

We spent two nights in this wonderful place, they have an excellent service, the food was amazing!!, what i liked most was the private lake where my son had his first catch fish!, the cabin was ok, not fancy but comfortable, the swimming pool was clean, i guess they have made an effort to improve the service. more

It looks great, but the rooms are all over the board. Some rooms are terrible, some are nice. We got one of the bad ones. It was the spare room of a larger cabin -- very bare bones & very little hot water. Nearly everyone in our large group had some complaints. I'd rather stay elsewhere. more

Part of a Trafalgar Copper Canyon Tour. First room had leaking toilet, blocked sink drain, and a heater that could not keep you warm. Got changed to a better room the second night, but still TOO cold. Food was good, but no choice. Water, well...it is your choice to drink it or not. This place needs a lot of maintenance... more
