Briar Island Lodge is a beautiful place on a hill overlooking the ocean on remote Briar Island. Great whale watching and hiking. Rooms were simple but really nice and very clean. Staff great (especially the waitresses in the dining room). The food was really terrific (especially the periwinkles and fish cakes). Overall, great, peaceful place to stay and enjoy the... more

The lodge is set up on a hill overlooking the harbour. You can watch fishing boats and the island ferry service right from your room. The room was comfortable and the jacuzzi a treat. The nearby trails are full of birds of all sorts... Be sure and check out the seal colony. Grab a healthy breakfast before heading out to... more

What a wonderful experience! From our arrival via ferry to our departure, the visit was a totally wonderful adventure. This is a must do if you are touring on motorcycle. The accommodations were fine, the food was excellent, the waitresses were friendly and fun. The island is quiet and offers peaceful pursuits like hiking, birdwatching, whale watching, and just plain... more

We loved our stay here, and it was the second time I had stayed at this lodge, the first for my honey. If you like feeling in touch with nature and love the water, this is a great place to stay. The people are very friendly, relaxed, and easygoing. The place has a dining room with an amazing view of... more

We stayed at Brier Island Lodge for 2 nights in July 2007. We originally booked a king size room and when we arrived we were told that due to a plumbing problem in the room we had booked we had been upgraded to a "whirlpool" room. The whirlpool bath is actually in the room (not the bathroom). If you do... more

We had looked forward to our 2 day stay at Brier Island Lodge for many months and when we arrived we were not disappointed. It was everything we hoped it would be. Brier Island Lodge and the journey to get there is definitely an 'experience' and for this reason, I have marked it 4 star. We arrived after taking the... more

We recently travelled to NS and made Briar Island our first major NS spot. We lived in the Annapolis Valley area for many years but never experienced this area but had read about it. Our first priority was a "get-away", and this proved to be just the medicine we needed to start off our vacation and just unwind! The venture... more

Located in Wesport, NS, the island itself has a lot to offer - see the seal colony, whale watching, tons of birds, the best in Nova Scotia small fishing village. The lodge has a nice feel and great staff. The cheap rooms ($60 to $70 per night) where great as was the restaurant. Remarkably inexpensive. Highly recommended. London, ON more

Getting to this hotel is half of the fun! Form Digby you drive to the first ferry stop to Long Island. Take the ferry to Long Island and continue driving to the second ferry stop for Brier Island. Take the ferry to Brier Island. Fun! We stayed in a second floor room for a better view of the water. The... more

The resort is situated on a hill overlooking Westport and the water passage between the islands the view is breath taking. We stayed in the newer part, the room was very nice and clean however the walls are rather thin . If you go stay on the upper floor, the ceiling is also very thin and noisy. The staff are... more
