We had a night here on our honeymoon in a luxury suite and it was great - nothing like arriving hot and sticky in 105 degrees of heat to jump into a pool! The rooms are clean and basic and we decided to get some snacks and beers from the store and sit out to watch the sunset. Also, get... more

Stovepipe Wells is not luxury (think '60s motel), but it was very comfortable, clean, good food, and the staff was great - especially in the dining room. The pool, spring fed and cool, was just what we needed after a long, hot day, The sand dunes and Mosaic Canyon were a short drive away, so we did the dunes after... more

Stayed here overnight while visiting death valley on the way to the Grand Canyon from CA. Got a deluxe room for $109, which seems like a lot, but its one of 2 motels in the middle of a huge desert, so I expected it to be a little pricey. Room was fairly clean, decent bathroom, nice size, working TV. Air... more

Stayed here one night as was passing through Death Valley. Hotel Room itself and the location and the view was WONDERFUL, room was an excellent size but as stated previously by someone else, the Air Con is LOUD!!! but considering the heat it's no doubt working hard, personally we turned it off at night and just used the Ceiling Fan.... more

Roy and Sue UK We booked what was described as a deluxe room only to find the only difference between standard rooms and the deluxe was a television. The air conditioning was so loud it was impossible to sleep so we had to switch it off, which is not ideal in the desert. This was the most expensive room and... more

I don't know why? regards schliek more

We booked this place after reviews in AAA and also on tripadvisor. We paid extra for a "deluxe room". The hotel is well located, but it has all the charm of a super 8 motel. Attendants did not even refill kleenex box. only one bed was made. Since there is no where else to stay for miles it is adequate,... more

In keeping with other national park accomodation, this is an overpriced room. Its easy to understand why though, because it is in the middle of nowhere. It must be hard to get staff and the running costs are surely high! It was a nice base to explore death valley though. We arrived in the early evening and everything was ready... more

I stayed at SPW with several other women last weekend and we totally enjoyed our stay! After reading the horrible reviews here at this site we were expecting much worse then what we got! The room was very clean, the A/C was not any noisier then we who live in the Mojave desert are used to. I did not see... more
