The Maswik lodge was a very clean, comfortable place to stay at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The price was very reasonable and the setting was great. It was a short walk from the canyon's edge yet far enough from the majority of tourists. The only drawbacks were no air conditioning, (They did have a wall fan and... more

Maswik Lodge was entirely comfortable and though it wasn't the center of most events and activities (like the Bright Angel Lodge) it was close enough for a quick walk to the rim and far enough away to avoid the tourist clamor. The food in the cafeteria was pretty good for the price although on rare occasion disappointing. Overall well worth... more

This sequel is prompted by our return to Maswik in one of the low-end cabins units (actually a quad arrangement) where we had the low-end motel on the previous visit. Room was much more spacious with an additional platform type couch that might have provided another single bed but for the fact that the cushion was so hard you might... more

This lodge is your best bet if your on a budget and need a room with 2 dbl. beds. Our party had 4 guys hiking "to the bottom" and back out. I read a bad review about this place and believe it was very undeserved. the rooms are absolutely fine and clean. The dining hall had a huge variety of... more

Our family of 4 (w/2 teens) stayed for 2 nights at Maswick. This is a series of motel-like buildings and cabins on the west end of Grand Canyon Village. Our room was in the Redbud building and was one of the recently remodeled units with AC, which we never needed. I had read several complaints about the location of Maswick... more

Stayed at Matswick for one night this past weekend. The experience was pleasant, room was spacious and tidy as was the bathroom (I liked separate vanity area). There was a small fridge in the room which is helpful for longer stays. The room did have a slightly stale smell but other than that was fine. Our room had AC (which... more

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in December 07. We wanted a place that would serve as a base for a few days exploration of the GC. The Maswik certainly succeeded in this. On arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and directed us to our room. The Room was of a good standard albeit a bit... more

We stayed at the Maswik Lodge for 3 days in mid-June last summer. Our rooms had AC, fans, good size bathroom, 2 beds and a cot. If it were not for the AC, we would have been very uncomfortable in the evening before going to bed. We walked to the rim, the shuttles were very convenient, yet it was in... more

We booked this hotel due to excellent location. We arrived at midnight after a long drive [by U.K. standards] from Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the Grand Canyon flight we had booked for mid afternoon next day had been changed to 6am - therefore, our timing was all out. We were checked in and directed to our room, which was easy enough... more

We stayed in one of the cabins, just down the road from employee housing. A little dark, dingy and depressing, and the cabin was not in the best of shape. Also, we were there during a heat wave, and the cabin fan was completely worthless in terms of moving any air. On the plus side, we were a very short... more
