For the rate charged, the Marriott is definitely not one of Santo Domingo's better hotels. The pool is extremely small and the hotel staff can't speak English (unlike most of Santo Domingo's hotel.) Just returned from Santo Domingo, where we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott. Wonderful location, close to the downtown area (taxi or bus), the beach(Malecon area) and enough 24 hour restaurants around.
