Traveling to Haiti, one does not have high expectations. We were pleasantly surprised. The lobby is nicely decorated with Haitian art, as are the rooms. The rooms are quite simple, but adequate. We were in a junior executive room and it had it's own living room, which was nice. We traveled with our infant and they provided a full sized... more

I was in port-au-prince for a mission to check out orphanages and rehab clinics. The staff was very helpful and I could always find an English speaking staff member. The breakfast was the best deal going, $8US. The dinner I had there was great, steak with sauce Bearnaise. The pool was warm and inviting and the Prestige beer was cold... more

The Montana is built on the side of the mountain in Petionville overlooking Port au Prince. It is most unusually decorated -- local art, local furniture covered in bright colours, interior water gardens (with fish and/or turtles), huge mirrors everywhere. Has been buit in stages over time -- and most of the rooms are uniquely set out and furnished. The... more

Very safe area of Port-au-Prince. Beautiful pool and patio. Amazing views. Clean, spacious rooms. Frequented by UN staff and UN police and high-level diplomats (Canadian Prime Minister held meetings there during my stay). Pretty good food in the restaurant. Expensive rates, though, and unhelpful front desk staff (my messages were never delivered and packages I left for pick-up were not... more

Very nice hotel. Great rooms, great views and great food. The rooms come with irons, ironing boards, a safe, satellite TV, plenty of storage and everything works. The rooms all have balconies and lots of plants and flowers. The common areas are full of Haitian folk art and it is fun to just to walk around and discover new alcoves.... more

This hotel has nice grounds. However, the rooms are ok. The internet was really slow. Restaurant was good. Tthis is a third world country so I didn't expect the best. more

The Montana qualifies as the most exclusive hotel in Haiti. It has an international flair, to some extent, as it's the place where most of the expatriates and diplomats and NGO-types who visit Haiti seem to lodge. The hotel sits atop a hill in Petionville, outside of Port au Prince. With all the mahogany and the US satellite TVs, it... more
