No this is not Club Med, but if you want a unique experience the Hotel Oloffson has it. I went with a group of people in February of 2007 and throughly enjoyed my stay. The food was good, the room was clean, and the service was above average. The owner of the Hotel, Richard Morse, is an absolute sweet heart... more

I am a young lady (26 yrs of age)of Trinidad and Tobago. This was my first visit to Haiti travelling alone. I had a really long day of travelling and the hotel was booked in advance in case I had missed my flight to my destination by a lady Jacqueline, who was trying to help me out whilst I was... more

I booked the Oloffson through Yahoo Travel and was charged in advance for the room; however, when I arrived at the hotel they had no record of either the reservation or the payment, so after some arguing I had to pay again. Our room was missing a window, so mosquitos poured in. I woke up with 8 mosquito bites on... more

I went to the Oloffson on Thursday so I could take in the voudou rhythm of RAM. I stayed with friends in the Graham Greene suite which was big enough for a large family. There was a large verranda with wicker like furniture and the room had a small area to entertain friends. Even though the hotel is in the... more

This hotel is an experience, not just a place to stay. If you are going to be picky and obsessive about service, cleanliness, upkeep, etc. then you shouldn't stay here (and probably you should not go to Haiti). The Oloffson is not a prepackaged place designed by formula to make you forget where you are. If you are interested in... more

With some concern, I decided to stay at the Oloffson last month despite some of the reviews on this page. I had been there before but didn't know if the hotel hit some bad times after the latest change of government. I shouldn't have been worried at all. Our rooms were clean, the service was efficient and helpful, the food... more

I stayed at the Oloffsen in September 2003 for about five days. As somebody wrote the hotel is in a very very bad shape. A far cry from what the high society luxury hotel of the fifties. Don't forget that, with Cuba, Haiti was a primary destination in the Caribbean back then. Since then it appears that no care has... more

My stay at the Oloffson, in Sept. of 2003, was a step back into another time. The hotel is charming. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The other guests were eclectic and fascinating. I read Graham Greene's The Comedians while rocking on a huge verandah outside my room. The pool was like heaven after the heat of... more

If you want a four star resort with all the bells and whistles, skip the Oloffson. If you want to experence a real jem that has all but disapeared from the world, dont miss the Oloffson. I had stayed at the Oloffson off and on for the past forty years, and it has resmained almost the same. Not so for... more

I stayed at the Oloffson last Nov. 02. If you are looking for luxury, Haiti will be alll wrong for you. The hotel is comfortable and Richard, the owmer was friendly and very helpful to me. The food at the restaurant was very good. My purpose in Haiti is to find artists. Alix Toyo is available to serve as a... more
