The last time we stayed at the Golden Sands it was terrible. It wasn't very clean. When we first got there there was a rat in the room. They did change our room only to have mouse droppings in the next one. They came to make our room and they actually put ripped sheets on our bed and we had... more

Golden Sands is a clean, quiet, comfortable, and inexpensive ($45-55 US) "motel" on Calabash Bay in the community of Treasure Beach, which has about 12 small, low-key guest houses and hotels under the palms in a line along the sea. The only amenity that GS offers is a bar, but there are small shops and basic restaurants an easy walk... more
