Thsi is a great hotel that I always stay at when I go to Kingston (over 4 times in the past 24 months). The staff is very polite and helpful, meals are delicious, and the manager is always available should there be any quetsions. The colonial architecture creates a very nice atmosphere the moment one enters into the hotel. I... more

If you are in Kingston then in all likelihood you are in Jamaica on business - the nearest beach is over 70 miles away. The Terra Nova is by far the best hotel to stay in Kingston. The rooms are excellent and the food was good. As it is to be expected it is not cheap... It is truly an... more

The Terra Nova is built around a 1920s era house, formerly the home of one of Jamaica's leading business families. It has expanded somewhat to include a casino, but it retains almost all of its original charm. Location: The Terra Nova is located slightly farther from the New Kingston business district than other hotels, but is nonetheless convenient (and quieter).... more

This is the first time I felt the need to write a review. I read the previous reviews and was a bit nervous about some of the negative comments. I took the gamble anyway and booked the hotel....I WON!! We are from Jamaica and wanted to get a "home" feel from our accomodations. Terra Nova was just what we wanted;... more

I was not disappointed. Upon arrival I was upgraded to the royal suite.... this hotel rivals any of the 5 stars I have stayed. Actually, the service was better than EVERY five star that I have stayed over the years. Room service was rapid....I ordered the "appetizer" lobster salad... well what I got was a full meal--- a plate full... more

I stayed at the Terra Nova while in Kingston for the Marine Corps Ball, which was held at the hotel. I would have given the Terra Nova a higher rating if the room was cleaner and more up to date. Upon arrival, we were escorted to a room which had a foul odor. Fortunately it was the wrong room (we... more

I stayed with my wife and adult daughter at the Terra Nova in August 2005. As this was at the end of a two-month visit (yes, two months, all over Jamaica!) we have the advantage of being able to compare it with many other places. The Terra Nova was one of our highlights, the other being Trident Villas in Portland.... more

I arrived at the hotel on May 26th and was very ill so I had ordered room service (basically water and juice). After a while of resting, I felt better and started to enjoy the hotel. When I returned to the room, I noticed that there were very small bugs crawling around my bed. I went downstairs and was helped... more
