As previous comments submitted,we too had problems when we arrived with being"upgraded". However our idea of upgrade is not Sesame Street characters painted everywhere,and walking around alive! If you want a short vacation ruined, do not go here or book your reservations through Expedia. When arriving at Negril Gardens (after a long day of travel) we were told that we were "upgraded" and moved to another hotel. I just returned from a vacation to Negril Gardens. I always wanted to return to Negril Beach area...was interested in finding a resort that was mid way between high luxury and practical. The grounds and the beach were fine, the food was just ok.We had a hard time tryin to take a shower because you didn't know whether you were going to have hot water or not. We stayed at Negril Gardens from 12/26 to 1/9 and just loved it. Mr Gordon does a great job with his staff who work as a team. We plan to return next year.
