Hotel Review: Captain Olivers was nice and homey. It was just a place for me to sleep and I didn't intend on staying in the rooms much, so I opted for the marine view room. 1) Room was clean. It had a fridge where I could freeze my water bottles and use to keep my collapsible cooler very cold for... more

I'll preface my review by specifying that we arrived at Captain Oliver's after a very unhappy several days on a neighboring island. We were looking for an escape -- almost anywhere would have done. And when we heard about the reasonable room rate ($170 tax incl. for a palatial room with a sea-facing terrace, in the low season), the free... more

I had read the reviews before we booked Captain Olivers. It seemed that most who were dissatisfied were upset with the remote location of this hotel. This is not a place for the timid tourist who wants to be near all the "stuff". It is about 30 minutes from the airport on winding, poorly marked roads. We got lost a... more

I love TripAdvisor and use it often so of course I read reviews before booking a room at Captain Oliver's. I wish I had seen the review by "DencUK" because it summed up my experience. My first impression of the hotel was that it was charming. There are many tropical plants on the grounds and it's location on the marina... more

We had a sea view room and it isnt bad - spacious and clean with a mini kitchen and terrace. The sea view though is limited to the small bay in front of the hotel. The food is generally quite good without being fabulous but the service in the restaurant is chaotic. No one greets you when you arrive in... more

My hubby and I stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon, and were very pleasantly surprised!! We had spent some time in Phillipsburg, which was full of cruise shippers, and partytime vibes, so we were very impressed with the relaxed, laidback atmosphere offered by this resort. All the rooms are in little bungalow style structures, and the ocean view... more

I stayed at Captain Oliver´s in Dec 2007 and loved the hotel and the restaurant. The front office staff were very professional, helpful, friendly and charming. Location is beautiful and the rooms are (I had ocean view) are spacious, quite new, clean and very tastefully decorated. I had some problems with the booking since Expedia did not differentiate garden and... more

We stayed at Captain Olivers for a week in January 2008. The hotel is VERY nice. The rooms are large and we got the ocean view superior room to guarantee a king size bed. The bed is a real king (single mattress). The view is wonderful and we go the Continental Plan to get breakfast included, which was very good... more

Captain Oliver's delivers what it promises: a nice getaway with a laid back atmosphere. If you are expecting a vibrant nightlife and multiple options dining out, you might want to consider a more lively area. Frankly I'm surprised that some reviewers would rate the food at CO's the best on the island. In our opinion, the fare on offer during... more

We stayed at Captain Oliver's for only three nights. What a worderful experience. The only challenge we experienced was to find it at night after our flight was delayed and we rented a car at the airport. The map they handed us was not showing too many details. If you go there the first time, you need to get on... more
