When we booked our stay, Kariwak was number one on tripadvisor but its ranking had drifted a bit before our trip and I was hoping that it lived up to its previous reputation and that the airport noise was not intrusive. And yes, the short answer is, Kariwak was perfect for us. We were welcomed, the staff provided excellent unobtrusive... more

We stayed at the Kariwak for 2 weeks and highly recommend it. We had one of the garden rooms, comprising of a large bedroom with bathroom and separate toilet. It was extremely clean and the high ceiling made the room feel very airy. The AC unit worked perfectly and it was a cool retreat away from the heat. The grounds... more

Just spent a fantastic relaxing week with the Kariwak 'family'. Best breakfasts ever! excellent courteous helpful good humoured staff, we will definately be returning. You know a restaurant is good when locals frequent it!.Wonderful well kept gardens. Lying in a hammock with the best peanut punch ever after returning from Pigeon Point on the courtesy bus then a dip in the... more

This hotel is lovely. You have your own little walk way to your room, with a little front porch. The rooms are sweet, spacious and clean. It's near the airport, but in the mornings I mainly heard birds singing. Store bay is a short walk and pigeon point a bit longer but stil do-able. Try the rum punch at the... more

I will never stay at this property again. We were treated extremely rude by the waitstaff in the Restuarant. How dare we asked for a simple thing like cutlery. Apparently the staff expects one to eat with one's hands. The food quality was terrible also. The owners were extremely rude during check in and check out. I would advise anyone... more

I stayed at Kariwak on business with other colleagues for one night. In the short time I stayed there I was spoken to rudely by the owner of the hotel who accused me of not having enough intelligence to know better than to drink a beverage in a bottle in the pool. You would think that being in the hospitality... more

We at Kariwak Village would usually not seek to intervene in or dispute reviews written on the hotel, whether good or bad. We have full appreciation of the fundamental right of persons expressing themselves and their perceptions after staying at any establishment. However, when it is that information relayed seeks to intentionally mislead review readers, and also created a completely...

We have stayed regularly at Kariwak where returnees prevail, and represent a wide selection of world populace in terms of character, colour, and creed. All are welcomed in the same manner. Owner/management is always present and approachable and any problems are easily and happily addressed. more

Spent 4 nights at the Kariwak Village Hotel in March 2008. We were allocated Room 5B. Many of the rooms are actually semi-bungalows constructed in a rustic "ajoupa" style and situated in the beautiful, lush, tranquil grounds of the hotel. The room was spacious, simply decorated and furnished in a rustic style with good storage and opened onto a small... more

For Tobago, I think Kariwak is the best its going to get, which is not saying much. Side note, for those coming to Tobago, its best to rent a car so you can get around. Rooms - the beds are really really really bad. rock hard, like summer camp. I wished they had TV's, they really should update that. There... more

I am sitting in the Kariwak as I write this. Nice (if a little cheesy) music is playing, I am watching the humminbirds and other avian life fly past, while my wife and son play in the pool. It really is nice. The pool is purified but no chemicals, which is really great for those who don't like chlorine. Dinners... more
