This is basically a time-share resort but does rent suites to non-owners as well. The resort is situated right on the beach in the Lucaya area of Freeport -- away from the main part of that city. It has two major sections: 1) the older but more desirable section built around the pool, restaurant, and garden courtyard and 2) a... more

I just want to say that this hotel took a run with our money. Here is what happened. There were four of us who stayed in one room, which let me add was not bad at all. One couple slept in the bed which is located in the bedroom and the other couple slept on the pull out bed from... more

I`m not really sure how I feel about our stay here. I`ve given it ok because I just can`t decide. There was no courtesy bus from the port but there were taxis available. On arrival there seemed to be a lot of people milling about in reception meaning it was very confused. We were early but were told we couldn`t... more

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at the resort. We had been concerned about what to expect after reading some other reviews, but everything was very nice. The location of the resort is great; it is scluded, and yet close to Port Lucaya. During the day we used the free shuttle to Port Lucaya, and at night taxi cabs... more

This was my first trip to the resort as well as Grand Bahama Island. The room itself was ok, a little worn but not at all uncomfortable. The two-bedroom unit had window a/c units that were loud but cooled the room. The hotel did not supply any amenities such as shampoo or supplies for the kitchen such as coffee, sugar,... more

We spent a week in this resort and celebrated my twins' graduation. We stayed in a two bedroom unit that overlooked the courtyard and swimming pool. Our room had no view of the ocean. The rooms were nicely decorated with TV's in every room and Canadian satellite which was almost like not having TV. I am used to DirectTV subscribing... more

It's not horrible, but it's not bad....we joined my wife's mom and step-dad who own a timeshare there. Though I would never purcahase there, I'm sure they paid too much for what they got. We were there June 13th -21st. I read all the reviews before we left, so I didn't set my expectations too high. I've been to other... more

My wife and I have travelled to the Bahamas many times and have stayed at several different properties. By all accounts, Island Seas is head and shoulders above the rest. Upon arriving we were treated like family. Any needs or requests we had we greeted with a smile and we never wanted for anything. While we were walking along the... more

Just returned from Port Lucaya on 7/4/2008. Had purchased a vacation package through Special T Travel in Feb. Took the Discovey Sun to Bahamas. $700 in port charges and fees. (2 adults and 2 kids 9 & 11) Listening to people talk, I think we would have done better going directly through Discovey. Aditional $10 pp as you leave Ft.... more

We arrived in the Bahamas on the Discovery cruise line (which is a great way to get there for the price), where you will be required to take a shuttle at $5 per person to the hotel. The check-in process is time consuming, basically you will have to register so that someone can convince you to sign up for the... more
