As part of a group of college students, we only stayed over a weekend. Wiil never stay here again ! Dirty, unfriendly, over-priced crap hole. Someone broke into ouir room ( we were only gone for 1 1/2 hrs ) and stole electronics and wallets etc. while we were out. had to have been the hotel staff--no forced entry-balcony still... more

I have been staying at this hotel for at least 12 years in a row, and will be going back again this January. The hotel is always very clean and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Many of the staff have been there for years and years and recognize us when we come in. There is a... more

This is the worst exposure I've ever had to contempt, oblique threats, and dismissive, patronizing rudeness in ANY hotel ANYWHERE. The staff were as bad as they could be --without demanding an open confrontation. Slimy. This hotel -- and Acapulco itself to a large extent -- are a poor commentary on the great country of Mexico, its wonderful people, and its... more

Very very Mexican. You can see a lot of spanish speaking people in there. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was very helping, but the noise from the springbreakers... gosh... We stayed there for 2 nights and it didnt get any better. We thought it will be a nice chance to get away from noisy american teens (mean: springbreakers), but... more

The hotel seems to be meant for mexican families with children. That's ok if you don't care about some noise. The staff is friendliy and helpful, the rooms are kept clean and fresh. The most of the guests during our stay were joung american "spring-breakers" drinking lots of alcohol en screaming and shouting alsmost 24hrs a day. Opposite to the... more

The first thing to remember is "YOU ARE IN MEXICO". We stayed for a full week and had a wonderful time. The staff was pleasant, the room was comfortable (and clean), The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the pool with swim up bar was great. Most of the snooty people that would complain about this place would... more

You can survive in it, but I think It's not worth the price, taking into account that I found holes in the sheets and the towels were old and smell very bad. It's a shame because it has a nice architecture and is very well located, a little maintennace would make it worth.. more

Seriously, this place is aweful. We were there for a weekend adventure earlier this summer, and thought we had a pretty good deal with this place. We walked into the lobby and thought, "wow, not so bad for the money we paid". However, we soon walked into our room and found that the AC didnt work, there was carpet that... more

It's interesting to hear of people's opinions, complaints and likes. The Tortuga was recommended by a friend years ago who had stayed there before. My first time there I noticed the lobby to be pleasant enough, but the rooms were very plain and was overwhelmed by the loud music from the bars across the street at night. There's a mediocre... more
