The view from the hotel is unparalleled. It is truely magnificent. The accomodations are fine, nothing special, but clean. The lower hotel has an amazing view, but is small and there are few chairs. The upper hotel is larger with a horrible view. Unfortunately niether pool is kid-free which makes it hard to find a quiet spot. We got a... more

What a great view from our room, pacific ocean on one side, acapulco bay on the other. Having dinner while watching the cliff divers is amazing. But the hotel needs repairs. The blinds in our bedroom had missing slates allow people to see in, the plug in the bath did not work, i had to fix the fuse on the... more

What a shame to come away with disappointments from an otherwise wonderful trip. Must agree with report given by the Missouri travelers who stated that the advertised "complimentary airport transportation" was not provided. Also, the bottled water was not included. Staff/management indifferent when we showed them the printed materials advertising these amenities. I even emailed them twice prior to arrival... more

El Mirador-The Grande Dame of Acapulco- It can best be described as a 2-star hotel. What a shame that it may soon be out-classed by other, more modern hotels in the area. There are many signs of deterioration. It needs more of everything! More paint, more hardware replacements, more landscaping, more service personnel with at least some command of English,... more

I just returned from my second trip to Acapulco and look forward to making my third. My first trip was on our honeymoon 28 years ago so I hope I don't wait that long for the next! My next trip won't be for the glitz and glamour if that is what you call the newer section of the strip, it... more

The location of this hotel is fantastic, overlooking La Quebrada where the cliff diving takes place. Unfortunately the hotel relies on this fact and seems to think that means they can get away with tired rooms and poor service. Our room was very disappointing (and up LOTS of stairs which didn't really bother us but would be a problem if... more

This hotel is truly amazing in how it is laid out. Nestled in the cliffs. the setting is awesome, basically three huge levels...from the sea crashing on the rocks to an upper pool overlooking the bay. In between...a pool with cliffs on each side and ocean below. The hotel is walking distance to the zocalo, which we thought was much... more

I have stayed at El Mirador many times now I have found that 5 years ago it was getting run down then 2 years ago I noticed that the new management was making great changes and just returned from a 2 week stay I enjoy all 3 funcilars as well as the 2 freshwater pools and love to snorkel in... more

To begin with, the hotel itself is a gem. It is built directly into the side of a cliff where the cliff divers perform their daily shows. There are NO rooms that allow viewing of the cliff divers and you will have to pay 30 pesos to get close encounters. 30 pesos is roughly $3 USD. I did not eat... more

We have stayed at El Mirador four times over several years. Currently they are doing major rejuvination. It's wonderful to sit on your balcony and see the sunset over the Pacific and hear the waves on the rocks below, walk to Old Town and the Harbor in 5 minutes. Viewing the Cliff Divers from the dining room day or night... more
