We stayed here from December 23rd 2006 to January 1 2007. We arrived late and were put in a room on the second floor on the street side. The hall was recently painted and still smelled from it. Standard painting for the building was to leave half on the floor next to the walls. The 1st room we stayed in,... more

We arrived at our hotel on Jan 2nd around 4p.m. It took a ridiculous hour and fifteen minutes to check into our room. Once into our room, we turned the air on, which never worked properly. I had to call room service for more towels and bath tissue. For three people we were only allowed two towels per day, please... more

We stayed at the Avalon Excalibur from Dec 23 thru Jan 1st. Positives- Ocean view with balcony overlooking Acapulco Bay & Location, close to everything. New Year's Eve Fireworks from our balcony were spectacular, some of the best I have ever seen. There are many good restaurants in the area, so skip the all inclusive. Sirocco, La Gondola, El Zorrito,... more

My husband & I just returned from a two week stay at the Avalon & enjoyed a great two weeks. While I read all the negativity about this hotel I find some are a bit unfair. This is an older hotel situated directly on the beach with a view all around that is unbeliveable. If you like true Mexican culture... more

Hotel is not good. Lobby area is nice, upper floors hallways look more like a hospital setting, plain and simple. room is OKAY. Air conditioning was not working properly, we called for service, never fixed, we called for extra towels and cleaning of room, had to speak to a supervisor before we got the room clean. Swimming pool, only for... more

We arrived at the Avalon on April 30, 2006 for a 15 day stay and it was terrible, to say the least. The service was terrible at the front desk. The elevators did not work most of the time, we had to walk up 14 flights of stairs and we lost the water for most of the day. The people... more

We just got back from a 7 day trip to Acapulco, Mexico where we stayed at the Avalon Excalibur. The hotel was very clean, but that is the only good thing about our trip. The food is absolutely horrible!!! We were ripped off by taxis and the hotel concierge. The Mexican people looked at us with disgust! The items that... more

I will go back to acapulco but definitely not stay here. The room were dirty, the bathrooms were run down, the housekeeping staff were rude and acted like they did not want you to ask them for anything. The Avalon vacation club salesman are sleazy and use alot of bad language and or sexual comments in general - not the type... more

We arrived at Avalon before check in time and got an ocean room on a high floor, promptly and politely. That set the tone. The hotel was a bit noisy but joyful noise. It was a bit old but clean with lots of friendly staff and security guards to make u feel good, and we never had to offer a... more

We stayed at the Avalon from March 16-23 2006. We were four of us, upon arrival we asked for an ocean view room which we got for 70.00$ per room for the week, with a smile. The check in was pretty fast. The rooms are big and very clean, of course it's an older building so you do get a... more
