HOtel staff was not helpful, beach was unswimmable and life guards were there to keep everyone out of the very dangerous water. Also there was green foam floating in the water for miles the entire week we were there. The room smelled moldy as there were no fans in the bathroom and moisture never evaporated. The check-in area/lobby is a little hectic and worn, but over-all we had a good travel experience at the Krystal. The food was actually quite delicious and priced fairly. Enjoyed the pool, beach, and the view. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would go back. more

The hotel is definety showing it's age despite a somewhat recent superficial cosmetic makeover it's musty and falling apart. Drinks were pretty expensive, but definetaly do as we did and pay cash for everything if you want to avoid crazy check out lines and go across the street to eat. The NH Krystal Ixtapa is an attractive hotel. The pool area is it's greatest asset. Krystal is a good family hotel, however, as other reviews have stated its showing its age just a little bit. They have a good toddler pool that is devided into 2 depths, approximately 1 foot and 2 foot with a little water island at approximately 6 inches. Once we got to Ixtapa, we realized that we should have researched more and stayed in Zihuatanejo, where you can find very beautiful hotels, and much better deals.
