We stayed at the Park Royal Ixtapa through a family member who has membership with the Royal Holiday. We had never done a "resort" type vacation before and it was actually really fun. They had as many activities as you wanted. They had a casino with fake money which was fun for the kids. We had a great time. Everything... more

I would give this hotel a 2 close to 3 stars. The bathroom/shower horrible, shower made for kids under 10. The tub was raised and 1/2 the size of a normal tub. Looked dirty the entire time, just a public looking bathroom. Request to verify why we didn't have full cable service, no one ever got back with us. The... more

Wonderful accommodations. Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Great buffets. Nice pool area and beach area. The only thing we didn't care for were the Royal Vacation sales people waiting at the elevators every time we came downstairs. Be firm and let them know you are not interested, not to bother you again and they will leave you alone. more

Just returned from the Park Royal. Enjoyed the stay and very relaxing. The breakfast and lunches were excellent. Dinner was average to bad and pretty much the same every night. I am sure it is tough to cook for so many. Buffet style food and was edible for dinner but not great. The service was excellent all around. The facility... more

This might be OK if you're looking for a mid-grade - cheap place to stay. If you're looking for a nice place, then look elsewhere. Look: * Overpainted, old, tired looking Food: * Salsa bar was horrible, no guacamole, cheap pizzas, hotdogs Room: * No refrigerator * No safe * No mini-bar Internet costs $3.85//30 mins and only works near... more

My 88 year-old Mother, who is fluet in Spanish, and I stayed at the Park Royal Jan. 11, 2008 through Jan. 26th (rooms 1704 & 05).We were given more room space than we had been promised by RCI which gave "we girls" and extra bath. Even thought the rooms were spartin and the A./C somewhat mildewy, we were VERY comfortable... more

We were at the Park Royal from March 8th to March 15th. Contrary to the previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful stay. We had a beautiful ocean view room. Everyone was very accommodating and pleasant. They were constantly cleaning this hotel. The food was good and lots of it. If you couldn’t find something to enjoy... more

We visited this property from 03/08/08 through 03/15/08. We had read a number of mixed reviews from this site and others about the quality of the rooms and the food, intolerable noise levels, as well as hassles about cutting off the bracelets before the stay was concluded. Needless to say, we arrived with some trepidation. Check-in was a breeze. We... more

We stayed at the Park Royal Ixtapa during president week. There were nine of us 7 adults and 2 teenagers. We initially had a problem with the Delta flight out of NY---there were crabs(!!) in the airplane hold that they couldn't remove so our flight was delayed for 3 hours. Needless to say we missed our connection in Mexico City... more

We just got back from a week vacation at this resort. We had a great room with a great view. The staff did everything they could to help us and they were very friendly. Lunch and breakfast were very good. We did not eat at the hotel for dinner. We prefered to go into town to try the local resturants.... more
