The staff is outright hostile. The rooms are dirty, or unfinished. The carpet in your room is sticky. The staff (fron desk and management) will do all it can to squeeze every dime out of you. For instance, in your room you'll find bottled water and liquor clearly marked as costing more. But your little coffee pot with complimentary coffee... more

Spent four nights at this hotel due to its close proximity to the company I was visiting. As other reviews state, this hotel location is not for tourists as it is far away from the historic center. Nonetheless, check in was quick and I have to agree with another review that states that the rooms look like 70's mexican decor.... more

I stayed at the Camino Real Guadalajara twice in 2006, (March and June) and both stays were pleasant. The staff was helpful at all times, especially the concierge who helped us arrange a tour of Guadalajara and Tequila after the original one was unexpectedly cancelled. If you travel on business the hotel is close to the cenvention center, and has... more

Why anyone stays at this place is a mystery to me. Have stayed at other Camino Real properties, which are very nice. This isn't anywhere near the same constellation as those. It's like the really ugly, unkempt stepsister from another planet. It's way out from the central historico, so location is lousy unless you like being surrounded by freeway entrances... more

I have hard feellings about this hotel, while the food buffet, room service and gardens are excellent, the instalations are old and cold, the rooms are strangely decorated like a mix of 70's with a mexican" contemporary" accents, the carpet, curtains are old with some stains , the worst part are the stiff beds, you can sleep better in the... more

Stayed at the Camino Real on a soccer tour of Mexico with my son. We had a group rate of 90 USD a night. The room was great and the wonderful bathroom a welcome change from our hotel in Cuernavaca where the septic system backed up into the shower (also 90 USD a night). The casual restaurant has a basic... more

I loved this hotel and I wish my stay had been longer. It is obvious they have world class chefs because their fine international food is excellent. From breakfast to dinner to evening drinks, everything is first class. The service was excellent too. Most of my requests were taken care of promptly. I will definitively be staying at this hotel... more

Ok, the hotel is situated a liitle bit far from downtown, but it is a oasis to relax after a busy day. The architecture, the gardens, the rooms: everything is wonderful and the best is the most excellent breakfast i have ever had in Mexico. more

So many websites are rating the Camino Real as a "Moderate" hotel. I DONT GET IT!!! I have stayed at various "Luxury" Hotels both in the USA and Canada and they cant even come close to the quality of service that you recieve at the Camino Real. Not to mention the cleanliness of the rooms and the perfectly manicured grounds.... more
