I stayed at the De Mendoza in October 2006 with my six-year-old daughter and my 80+ year-old mother. We chose the De Mendoza mostly for the location. As the previous reviewer noted, it is right next to the Degallado Theater, in back of which was nightly entertainment that was fabulous! We were very happy with the room, although we were... more

We chose this hotel because of its location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was disappointing for the price. The bathrooms need updating. There are other hotels in the area with more character that are not so expensive. more

My wife and I stayed four nights in this wonderful hotel. Our room was large, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. Yes, the water pressure was sporadic, as was the heat of the shower, and the food in the restaurant was mediocre. Offsetting these minor annoyances were the hospitable and helpful staff, the exquisite old world architecture of the building and attached... more

Location, Location, Location: This hotel is located in the historical center of Guadalajara. Our room had windows on the street. We heard street noise, but none of it was overly bothersome. I LOVED being able to open the window and see what was happening on the street - the man that washed the parked cars, the wedding taking place at... more

Hotel Demendoza provided an excellent location in the Centro Historico of Guadaljara. The room was individually air conditioned, remarkably quiet, and well appointed, with all the usual amenities. Two bottles of purified water were provided every day. Service was friendly and efficient. I was particularily pleased that the taxi could deliver us into the garage forecourt so we and our baggage... more

I liked my stay here as it's right in the middle of the plaza. The restaurant was good, and the rooms are clean. The shower had low pressure, but hey, as long as I get clean I don't care much. more

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. We overall had a good experience. The hotel is beautiful with it's old-world decor and architecture and the rooms are nice. Everything in our room worked like it should, which is more than you can say for some 3-star hotels in the States. Yes, the ladies at the front desk did not... more

I don't know who gave this hotel a Luxe denomination. The water in the hotel was brown. The showers did not work. The water in the pool was not heated. The service desk was unconcerned. I can go on and on. We payed $150 a night for a 3 star hotel at best! Extremely disappointed. more

I had meant to write this review after checking out of the Mendoza Oct. 5, but am late. However, it is deserving of a positive review so better late than never! We RAN from the Cervantes to the Mendoza and had no regrets. It was about $20 more a night, but WELL WORTH IT!!! The Mendoza is in a wonderful... more

I just recently stayed at Hotel De Mendoza for Mexican Independence Day, 9/16, and the hotel is the perfect location for the event. Yes the hotel is older and could use a slight update, but it is very comfortable, like an old friend. It feels like a small European hotel. The location cannot be beat by any other hotel in... more
