What a pleasant surprise! The Marques del Valle hotel has undergone a total renovation. Room decour is excelent. this hotel, adjacent to the Cathedral, is a beautiful, historical monument. the staff is gracious, rooms fantastic, and if requested, you can enjoy the zocalo from your balcony. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else....even though oaxaca is full of gorgeous, old hotels. sj more

Great zocalo view, large rooms but thats ALL. Poor lighting (a bulb hanging from a wire from the ceiling) and poor beds. The idea of paying $100 a night for this is totally ludicrous even with the great increase in Oaxaca hotel prices. more

Marques Del Valle is a wonderful place to catch all the action on the square. The Zocalo becomes the lobby and restuarant. The corner rooms are best. Clean and nice bath tubs! I stay every time I'm in town (6 times!) more
