This is a beautiful small hotel located in Oaxaca Centro, an easy four-block walk from the main square (zocalo), a block from Alcala (the main shopping boulevard) and two blocks from the Oaxaca Archeology Museum. It is definitely high-end, and priced accordingly (for Oaxaca) - but worth every peso. The property is an old Oaxacan mansion - four rooms surround... more

After taking a 5 day cooking class in Puebla, we headed to Oaxaca for a different culinary experience and to take in this cultural mecca. Casa Oaxaca enabled us to exhale and deeply relax. Each morning started with an incredible breakfast, included in the hotel cost, on their lovely open patio. Listening to the water fountain and eating their delicious... more

Casa Oaxaca was the site for a week long cooking class offered by A Cook's Tour, a cooking school tour company. We stayed at the hotel and took cooking classes from the hotel chef Alexandro. The hotel accommodations were wonderful (but some guests had beds that were a little hard; mine was fine), the staff really friendly and gracious, and... more

My wife and I spent six days at Casa Oaxaca. This is a wonderful place to stay. The courtyard is totally serene - a wonderful oasis in the heart of the historic district of the city. The staff is very attentive and professional. They go out of their way to make your stay a pleasure. The rooms are a little... more

After a week on the Pacific coast we stayed at Casa Oaxaca for just one night. It happened to be my wife's birthday as well, and we were delightfully surprised with Oaxacan chocolate-banana cake with Margaritas and samples of the hotel's aged mezcal...OO-LA-LA!!!Two thumbs up for the wonderful staff. more

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Oaxaca, from the first minute (you have to ring the oor bell to get in) to the last. The staff is outstanding, the location great and the food the best in town. Our room was small but charming. The chef, Alejandro, is a great guy. They opened a new restaurant nearby (behind San... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Oaxaca. Hotel is very well run. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. You can tell that they enjoy working at the hotel, which says a lot. We have traveled extensively in Mexico, and we can tell you horror stories about hotels that are not as described or expected. This will not be the... more

Simply put, there are no better hotels in Oaxaca at any price and very few hotels in the world that offer the style, luxury and value of Casa Oaxaca. The simply-appointed rooms face the courtyard, the pool or both. Each morning we awoke to hummingbirds fluttering outside our front window and the succulent smell of guava permeating our room through... more

The helpful and friendly staff at Casa Oaxaca make this elegant hotel truly exceptional. For example, I expressed in interest in learning more about the textiles in the region so Casa Oaxaca took me and my husband on a tour of several villages that weave and embroider the best quality work!!! Furthermore, the food is spectacular... The New York Times... more
