Bahia de la Luna is a truly magical place for people who want to get away from it all...far away. A rutted dirt road (sometimes washed out) takes you lurching and bouncing through the forest, past people's simple homes, a local graveyard, and a few vacation homesteads, till you arrive at the beach. This means your fellow guests are a... more

This is definitely a place my wife and I will return to, and soon. The hotel is about 1 hour from Hautulco airport by taxi, on a remote beach with no neighboring hotels or resorts. Pablo and Paula (lovely couple that manages the hotel) took excellent care of us, never making us feel like guests in their hotel, but more... more

The setting is as beautiful as advertised. The snorkeling and swimming are amazing. And the ability to relax unparalleled. Turn off your cellphone, take off your shoes and watch, and let the rhythm of the sun and surf, birds and flowers, dictate your day. When you need it, food and drink are just steps away, and the staff will help... more

Basically, in our view, you cannot go wrong at Bahia de la Luna. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is excellent, the water is warm, the sand is white, the marine life is abundant. Whether you want to explore the little coastal towns or just sit on the beach with a book and a cerveza, Bahia de la... more

We booked our cabana directly from the hotel. Reto, the co-owner, had warned us about not to drive in Mexico at night and specifically about the rather bad road to the hotel. Coming from the "world capital of pot holes", we thought, the road can't be worse than some of the streets in Grand Rapids MI in winter. I have... more

Excellent place to get away from it all! Reto and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I are both vegetarians, and Reto had no issues cooking us fantastic vegetarian meals. He also made excellent mixed drinks. The pico-de-gallo & guacamole were also excellent - made to order so they were very fresh. The cabana was quite simple... more

We recently spent four days at Bahia de la Luna and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax from our hectic lives. The beach is quite beautiful and the entire place is very peaceful. Reto and his staff are kind and helpful without being intrusive. The food was delicious! Every day we ate guacamole for lunch, and I... more

The silence from Maureen was deafening as we entered our cabana. Not quite the oasis that she had in mind...... Rustic does describe the rooms at Bahia del la Luna. Concrete walls, palapa roof, concrete floors, counters and sink. No lacy frills here, just the basics. Then, that is all we needed. We spent all of our time on the... more

We had a wonderful time at Bahia de la Luna. We loved every minute of our stay from the moment we stepped out of our taxi. We were welcomed by Andrea and Reto and shown to our cabana. The beach is amazingly beautiful with cabanas set up with chairs to lounge in all day. The water was so much fun... more

I recently stayed here for two nights. The property is beautiful and very secluded. If you are looking to get away from it all this is your spot. This is the type of place where you get know all the other guests because you are at the beach together and eat dinner together. The food at dinner was great and... more
