This was our first time to Cancun although several of our friends have been there many times. The Royal Islander was one of the resorts that was recommended. We were not disappointed! We were there seven days, the service and the people were fantastic. From the moment that we checked in until we left everything was great. We also visited... more

We stayed at the Islander for 10 days. Several items from other reviews deserve emphasis. Things are compartmentalized in that everyone has their own job and they try hard and do their jobs well. It was really helpful to be with some people who are experienced in the way of things there to guide us through the less obvious foibles... more

We just returned from the Royal Islander. We spent two weeks again this year and found that the excellence that is the hallmark of the Royal Resorts seems to only be surpassed each year we travel there. The rooms are immaculate, the food is superb (and we felt reasonably priced) and the pool area and grounds were very well maintained.... more

We went to get away from the cold weather and had a wonderful time. The Condo's are great, we traveled with 2 teenagers and we each had our own bedrooms so they could sleep away the morning. The pool was not heated and the water was cold. We sunned but could not enjoy the pool. The staff was very helpful.... more

We just returned from a week at the Royal Islander, and had a mixed experience - some good, some not so good, and some downright ugly. THE GOOD: the resort & grounds are beautiful, the pools lovely, and the beach quite nice, although they are not wide due to Wilma, and there are rocks interspersed along the shore. The staff... more

I own a villa at the Islander week 49 but split it up so I could get 2 weeks. Stayed beachfront 2nd floor the first week then in the lockoff portion of my own villa the 2nd week. Beach: When we first arrived there were alot of rocks. Worse than this time last year. We had high winds the beginning... more

We stayed at the Royal islander from Aug 11th to Aug 18th 2007 and we loved this place! We got a 2 bedroom/2 baths, full living room, dining area unit with full kitchen! We were only 2 adults and a 12 year old and this was plenty of space. The best part was that our room was on the 4th... more

Due to the cost of flying on the Saturday after Thanksgivings, we left on Friday the 23rd, at a savings of $250 a ticket. That savings X four travelers, well you do the math. In addition, the planes were ½ to ¾ full and not just on time, but early! We were scheduled to check in at the Royal Islander... more

We stayed at the Royal Islander Nov 10 -17th. It was a family vacation which included our 17, 13 and 5 year old. We decided to use the timeshare and were keeping our fingers crossed that there was enough to keep the kids busy since we were not staying at one of the inclusive resorts. After the first day, we... more
