We stayed at the Royal islander from Aug 11th to Aug 18th 2007 and we loved this place! We got a 2 bedroom/2 baths, full living room, dining area unit with full kitchen! We were only 2 adults and a 12 year old and this was plenty of space. The best part was that our room was on the 4th... more

Due to the cost of flying on the Saturday after Thanksgivings, we left on Friday the 23rd, at a savings of $250 a ticket. That savings X four travelers, well you do the math. In addition, the planes were ½ to ¾ full and not just on time, but early! We were scheduled to check in at the Royal Islander... more

We stayed at the Royal Islander Nov 10 -17th. It was a family vacation which included our 17, 13 and 5 year old. We decided to use the timeshare and were keeping our fingers crossed that there was enough to keep the kids busy since we were not staying at one of the inclusive resorts. After the first day, we... more

The Royal Islander was fantastic. Words could not describe the service we received as guests of the hotel. Everyone is assigned their very own personal concierge. Ours even came up to the room and helped us plan our week, he even made our reservations for us! The rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen has all the amenities of home,... more

We were at the Royal Islander Sept 1-8th. It was wonderful, clean, friendly and helpful staff...BUT after spending some time at the Royal Sands, I would book there next time. More going on at that resort. Although....all of the Royal Resorts were very nice. I would say the staff was excellent! If you plan to cook in at all...you may... more

We had a great time at the Royal Islander! All the rooms have excellent ocean views. We never had a problem getting chairs at the pool or beach. The beach has a steep drop off, not great for young children and my teenage son could not skim board here. We used the shuttle service and went to the sister resort,... more

The entire staff did such a wonderful job keeping us safe and comfortable during hurricane wilma! We returned 05/2007 and plan to return again 10/2007 on wilma's 2 year anniversary. We hope to meet with old friends we met the first time during the storm. happy memories, always... even in the worst of times. more

Just back from the Royal Islander…. Had a great trip. Six of us went (47, 45, 43, 20, 18, 12). We were first timers and so some of these things many of you already know. Some comments below: Resort: The Royal Islander sits next to the Royal Caribbean and the Royal Mayan. We had full use of all three resorts.... more

The Royal Islander was amazing!! Our room and balcony was much bigger than I could have ever dreamed!! We had a 2 bedroom Villa. This gave my 2 teenage sons a place to themselves, then my husband and I our own area as well!!!! Perfect ---really. The Islander, Mayan, and Caribbean are all within walking distance and are linked by... more

My husband, daughter, and another family stayed at the Royal Islander through my timeshare exchange with Interval International the week of May 21st. We had a comfortable experience at the Islander; however, after talking to a staff member and explaining that we wanted to hang out at the beach more than the pool, the recommendation was made for us to... more
