A great budet hotel away from the hotel zone. The hotel didn't look too good from the outside, but inside public areas were well taken care of. The room was larger than expected and very clean, but sparce. No decorations like in pictures (still remodeling from last year's hurricane?) Beds were firm but comfortable. We ended up on street side,... more

This is a great little hotel in the Cancun area. My wife and I were looking to book a place for one night in Cancun without paying an arm and a leg. This was just the ticket. It is not very fancy, but I think we paid something like $40 for a night. It was very clean and had a... more

We stayed only 1 night at the hotel, because we arrived at midnight with the aeroplane and we went next day to another place near Akumal. We booked at this hotel because of the price and because we had to leave next day so we didn't need the beach. The hotel is average. The photos look nicer at the internet,... more

My wife and I stayed at the terrracaribe in June and our opinion is mixed. First the positives. The hotel is very well maintained and in general, very clean. The restaurant is inexpensive and surprisingly good. The location is quite convenient. You can be on the ferry to Isla in no time and on a bus to the hotel zone... more

My stay at the Terracaribe was fantastic! I was in the city on business and wanted to keep my budget tight. Being skeptical of what I had booked as I had never stayed in downtown, I arrived at the hotel (which is actually outside of downtown) and was pleasantly surprized! The hotel is small - 44 rooms - and was... more

We stayed from June 28th to July 3rd 2006. It was a short trip from the airport and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The pool is small but we went out a lot anyway. Rooms were clean and the air works great. No elevator so ask for the floor you want (we walked up to the 3rd and... more

Location is probably the only problem with this hotel: you keep having to take bus or taxi to get to the centre or the beaches further away. I think I was in the bus well over half an hour today (with traffic going back into town from Zona Hotelera, the beach area - yes there are traffic jams in Cancun).... more

The Terracaribe on Lopez Portillo street is a boutique -- a small, very modern looking, bright and cheerful hotel, but still with the "Spanish tiles" look. It is immaculate, and the staff is exceedingly friendly, cooperative and helpful if not always totally knowledgeable. Due to our bargain package deal, our room was a small one, but perfectly adequate for our... more

The Terracaribe is located in Ciudad Cancun, the place where folks who WORK at the big resorts live. It is sparklingly clean, and the staff is wonderful. The rooms are large and rather spare, but there is cable TV (some in English, and even a German channel) and a free internet station in the lobby. There is free bottled water... more

TerraCaribe is a great place to spend a night on your way into or out of the Yucatan Peninsula. We stayed there the night before leaving. We'd been staying down the coast, and just wanted a modest place downtown for our last night before transferring to the airport. TerraCaribe fit the bill. Rooms were basic but clean. The hotel has... more
