Location location location...the ruins are literally right behind this hotel. You can get up, have breakfast and walk 100 yards to the ruins before all the other tourists get there. The grounds were gorgeous, rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. I have not one complaint. more

The billboards on the toll road between Cancun and Chichen Itza for Mayaland are headlined "World Class Jungle Resort". When I think "World Class Jungle Resort" I think the Four Seasons Costa Rica or the nearby Rosewood Mayakoba in the mangroves. This is not either of those. Not even close. But it is a well-situated, beautifully landscaped, very clean and... more

We had a fantastic stay at the Mayaland. The hotel was a very nice surprise. As we made the drive from Cancun to Piste and Chichen Itza, we were not sure what to expect, and to be honest, did not have high expectations. As we pulled into the Mayaland grounds, we still were not sure. But as we were given... more

My friend and I stayed here for one night to see the light show at Chichen Itza and tour the ruins the next day. It was so conveniently located right behind the ruins. Driving into the property, we were amazed at the lush greenery around and the charm of the property. We parked our car in the lot behind the... more

We stayed on the Mayaland on May, 2008. Our plan was to stay one night at the Mayaland and do the ruins early in the morning, with fewer tourist and less intense heat. We are a family of four (with 2 little children, 2 and 5) and booked a superior room through their website. Note that while booking through their... more

Last year we spent one nite at the Mayaland hotel. The grounds were awsome... the hotel room was fine but not great...the hotels' proximity to the ruins unbeatable...food fine...service fine...price great...I would go back in a NY minute. We arrived by car from Merida at about 3:00PM. The car park is in the rear or the complex. We were greeted... more

This placed lived up to all my expectations. It's right next to the ruins, just a few minutes walk away. The bungalows are in excellent condition and very well kept. We only stayed their one niht andwish we could have stayed more. There are several pools at this resort and I suggest to stay away from the main pool because... more

You could not be closer to the archeological site -- the Hotel Mayaland is actually located inside it. The original bungalows are scattered around its lovely gardens, with some newer rooms in the building that contains the lobby and dining room. This place has been here for a while -- it shows in the large trees and mature plantings. We... more

We stayed with two children (9 and 6) for one night in mid-April for about $162 on Expedia. The hotel, rooms and grounds are lovely- at one time this must have been a beautiful and exclusive hotel - but these days it is in need of some attention to both physical infrastructure and staff. A few improvements will hopefully allow... more

In terms of the bungalow we stayed in, this was fairly nice and spacious, and pretty clean - though they could have been better with netting/protection to keep the bugs out. Location right next to Chichen Itza was great, very easy to get there before the mass crowds in the morning. However, restaurant really lets it down, though wouldn't take... more
